The Dress-Up (Couture) Closet of Our Dreams
Remember the magic of your childhood dress up closet—a wonderfully eclectic mix of school play costumes, hats, and vintage fine clothing from a great aunt you never knew? At the Bonpoint Paris fashion show, guests were treated to a collection that beckoned such memories with an incredible mix of sophistication and whimsy. Adorable models walked the runway (sometimes hand-in-hand) that seemed to lead us all down memory lane.
Check out our favorite looks:
Almost makes you remember your lines from the third-grade rendition of Romeo and Juliet, doesn’t it?
Or, perhaps, the fourth-grade production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Wool capes and slightly askew hats, just like the ones you used to don while pretending to be a fresh-faced college grad, heading to the big city in 1961.
Or chic knotted capes and flouncy hats for an afternoon pretending to shop for just the right diamonds for the upcoming ball.
Speaking of pretend balls, it was always hard to choose between the gown with tons of tulle…
…and the one with the flouncy, feathery collar. (Of course, your favorite part was always pretending to be the girl who got the crown, but kept her moto boots too.)
