Jen Roberts has been blazing her own trail from a young age. Born in Philadelphia – whose bold and unapologetically expressive culture she cites as a major influence –now resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jen became a mom at the age of 29 – enter: Dylan. Motherhood has inspired one of Jen’s many creative undertakings, Little Boogaweezin, the brand launched in 2013. Her viral moment? In 2015, images of Gwen Stefani surfaced wearing the LB Brand’s, “I Am Modern Motherhood” Sunglasses, out and about. “I started this brand at my kitchen table, and to see it take off has just been so awesome and unreal”, says Jen.
If you’re out of the loop – the LB Brand is an all-inclusive clothing and accessory line, pioneering a shift in expression for today’s generation – moms, kids, and dads. They transcend the boundaries of traditional roles and perceived appearances, while the brand is continuously being shaped and molded by their global community. Their LB Kids tagline is “WE are today’s modern kids, the game changers in our generation.” Why this message? “I truly feel in my heart that this generation of kids are completely different than those before them, especially in terms of opportunities”, says Jen. “They have the world literally at their fingertips and the power to do whatever they want.” The goal is to impart on kids that they have the power to turn something small into something big.
Now enter – us. How could we not be huge fans of that message, while we’re chanting, “Being YOU is our idea of cool”. SoCozy and The LB Brand go together like peanut butter and jelly. Jen instantly recognized the synergy between our two brands, too – “I LOVE that SoCozy is a lifestyle brand for today’s modern generation.”
She also identifies with our founder, Cozy Friedman, on the entrepreneur level. “I back Cozy’s vision on what she’s trying to do – I love that she saw a need for kids and went for it – she created a space for kids, where there wasn’t one for them.”
Plus – it helps that Jen hearts us as much as we heart her. “I really believe in these products, like no joke, they are really good products.”
Which leads us to our must-see, original web series: Dylan’s Desk!
Starring Jen’s son, Dylan – you’re not going to want to miss an episode of Dylan’s hysterical musings. When asked if he wanted to do a little show, Dylan’s response was “I want it to be BIG!” We like the way you think, Dylan!
Jen says that Dylan was so excited for his show – “He loves being on screen and this form of expression really resonates with him.” It’s also been amazing for her to watch his personality come out in front of the camera. “It’s a great way for us to bond. We love doing things together and I love that I can connect with him on a creative level, going outside the realm of homework and chores. Plus – I’m really excited that in 20 years he’s going to be able to look back and have Dylan’s Desk.”
