Quinoa’s Take: Dads Who Do Hair

Quinoa’s Take: Dads Who Do Hair

‘Tis the season for scary stories, the ones that make you shriek and shudder. My favorite scary story is an old urban legend. There are a few different variations, but they all revolve around a central terrorizing character: a dad with a hairbrush and accessories! (Go ahead, catch your breath.)

There’s the version where the unsuspecting daughter asks her dad for a top knot bun…

Or the infamous account of the dad who gave his toddler temporary partial blindness from this hairstyle…

And who can forget the version where the dad goes maniacal with hair clips? (I can barely stand to look.)

Seriously, I tell these stories at sleepovers all the time and half the girls go home in tears before midnight!

But, wait. Have no fear. Even though these horror stories are confirmed, there is good news. Efforts to educate dads in hairstyling are taking hold and the results are surprising.

Ladies and gentlemen, a dad was responsible for this:

Can you believe it? Not one, but two well-placed pig-tails! Who is this guy?

What kind of superpowers does this dad possess? A gorgeous asymmetrical inside-out braid shows some almost supernatural skills!

I have it on good authority that this hairstyle was executed entirely by a dad. And it slays me. So balanced and beautiful!

Check out the workmanship on this criss-cross pattern. It could pass as a mother’s any day of the week! Incredible!

And this dad? This guy seems like he’s out to prove something. (Like, maybe that all those scary stories are bogus and that real men can braid.)

I guess it just goes to show that whether you’re a kid in need of a hairstyle or a dad with a hairbrush, it always pays to face your fears! (After a little education, of course!)
