Boxer braids are EVERYWHERE – from the red carpet to pint sized fashionistas like North West and Penelope Disick. For those of us who don’t have the luxury of a personal hair stylist at our beck and call– fear not, this look is easy enough to achieve on your own!
Here’s how to get the look:
Step 1: Start by applying a generous amount of Cinch Detangler to locks from root to tip – hair is much easier to braid when it has a bit of slip!
Step 2: Part hair down the middle creating two equal sections – keep things neat by clipping one section of hair to the side using a sectioning clip.
Step 3: On the other side grab a small section of hair and divide into three equal sub sections and begin an inverted French Braid. You’ll do this by crossing the two outside strands under the middle strand. After you make your first couple of stitches then begin add hair to the outside stands and continue to braid UNDER.
Tip – if you have any flyaways, smooth them down with some Behave Style Cream.
Step 4: Continue the braid all the way down to the nape of the neck. Think about the shape of the braid as you go – if you want a braid that stands out – plait tightly while following the arc of the ear. For a softer look, keep plaits loose.
Step 5: When you reach the nape of the neck, switch to a normal braid and secure with an elastic. For a more casual look, leave the ends of the braid undone. Repeat on the other side.
Step 6: To keep everything in place and to add a touch of shine – use a small amount of Behave Styling Cream to smooth over your braids.
