Cozy’s Take: International Women’s Day
Today is International Women’s Day, a chance to join with people across the globe to celebrate the women we know and love as well as the women who have helped make the world a better, safer, more equitable place for all people. I’m taking a moment to count my blessings and give a shout out to all the incredible women who have made a difference in my life.
I find that it’s easy to take the women in our lives for granted, but these relationships are significant and impact our development and progress individually and together. The women that I adore and admire range from my closest confidantes to some who are strangers to me personally, but whose work and service improves life for women everywhere. They all have a common thread of adding to my life in some way. I think of my mentors in business to a friend giving me her kale salad recipe, or even my yoga instructor adjusting my downward dog pose—it’s all equally significant in my eyes. Sharing is caring and a little goes a long way.
I love this quote from the feminist poet Adrienne Rich, “The connections between and among women are the most feared, the most problematic, and the most potentially transforming force on the planet.”
Clearly, we women are complicated, but amazing nonetheless. Let’s celebrate and change the world together.
xoxo,
Cozy
