Cozy’s Kudos: Daddy Daughter Hair Factory
Though it could be mistaken for shots of the Braid Bar at one of my salons, this gorgeous gallery of hairstyles is the work of Phil Morgese, a dad on a mission.
Phil isn’t a trained stylist; his handiwork is all self-taught, one of the necessary skills of a single parent. What Phil discovered in the process of doing his daughter Emma’s hair was that it was more than just a daily task, but a great time to bond together. He started with simple hairstyles and eventually mastered some beautiful, intricate braids. Once his schedule allowed, Phil and Emma decided to share their story and skills with their community and the Daddy Daughter Hair Factory was born.
“I started DDHF to help dads. I didn’t really have a plan, nor the resources, but I knew if I put a class together, dads would come. Daddy Daughter Hair Factory has grown so fast since it made the news. It has become stronger and much easier because of the help from International Academy and other resources pouring in. My plan is to hold workshops and show parents how to do cool things with hair. We are going to have fun and so will our daughters.” – Phil Morgese
I’ve recognized the same thing in my Real Men Can Braid classes—that hairstyling is a great opportunity for dads to spend quality “hands-on” time with their daughters. It’s something special that dads and daughters can share together, learning and growing together. Plus, it’s lots of fun!
I was so impressed to hear about Phil’s story that I had to go meet him myself. In fact, stay tuned for some fun videos we’re putting together. I think you’ll love them.
In the mean time, learn more about Phil or sign up for one of his classes here. You (and your daughters) won’t regret it!
