We develop our products a little differently. Our products are conceptualized in kids hair salons, and are salon, stylist, mom, and kid tested and approved. The Cozy’s Cuts for Kids salons are used as a lab for innovating new products and testing formulations. Only products we think are good enough to use in our salons make the cut. We also do our homework on every ingredient that goes into our formulas to ensure that only the best, most effective or nutritious stuff makes it in. That means no nasties – no: parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol, gluten, wheat, peanuts, or tree nuts. Most of all – our products are developed specifically for kids’ hair.

Our products are high quality, use premium ingredients and work excellently. Value brands may dilute their products with extra water, and they can also contain nasties – harmful ingredients that are not good for you or may cause buildup on the hair. Our formulas contain ingredients that nourish hair & scalp with vitamins, proteins, and healthy oils, unlike value brands which can cause hair to become dry and brittle. We believe it is worth it to skip the nasties and give your kids the best stuff for their hair.

This is always a popular question!! While we do occasionally have coupons and frequently run promotions with retailers, and intermittently do it on our website, it is a constantly changing schedule. We do our best to communicate promotions, coupons, and similar activities through our social media channels. We are also trying to balance the frequency and appeal of promotional announcements for website sales through our newsletter or emails.

We currently offer our Boo! Lice Scaring Leave-In Spray in a convenient To-Go size. That means you can stash one in the kid’s sports bags, your purse, or your car. We also have a smaller sized detangler that is good for travel.

SoCozy tests each of our products in our New York City Salon, Cozy’s Cuts for Kids. We test them over time and tweak our formulas to ensure every product achieves the high performance we need. Once we are happy with a product, it undergoes safety tests, including stability, package compatibility, raw material QA, preservative efficacy, and consumer testing to ensure our formulas effectiveness.

SoCozy formulas are extremely gentle and non-irritating. You may notice other companies might add numbing ingredients or chemicals to make their products “tear-free” – we DO NOT include any of those “numbing agents” to any of our products. Instead, we use mild ingredients, which should not sting most kids’ eyes.

Although our products contain natural ingredients, they are not labeled as natural (which should only contain natural ingredients) or organic (complicated certification). Most SoCozy products are vegan friendly but are not labeled as vegan because some contain ingredients that are animal derived – like honey and keratin. But do not worry – no animals were harmed in the collection of those ingredients. Our mantra is to develop excellent effective formulas that work (some chemistry needed) but that are clean and free of toxic or nasty ingredients. You will not find any parabens, sulfates, phthalates, formaldehyde/formaldehyde donors, synthetic colors, or propylene glycol in SoCozy products. All our products are also free of gluten, wheat, peanuts, and tree nuts.

SoCozy products are developed and tested so that they cause little to no allergic reactions. It is nearly impossible for any shampoo or hair care product to be completely allergen free, so we recommend double checking the ingredients and doing a small skin patch test to check for possible allergic reactions. If you do experience irritation or itching, discontinue use, let us know (we will give you a refund and apologies) and consult a doctor.

They do not have an expiration date, and all our products have a useable life of at least 18 months after opening. If your product seems off, for color or scent, let us know and we will send you a replacement.

Yes and No. While we strive to provide the best and most earth friendly products possible, our packaging is currently not biodegradable.

Of course! While our products are made for children’s hair, they are all salon quality formulas that are designed to work. Don’t worry, we won’t tell.

We process and ship orders quickly, but if you wish to have your order processed the same day it must be placed before 11 am on weekdays. We are unable to ship orders to P.O Box addresses, but we can usually ship to Canada and internationally with FedEx. We stand by our products. Customer satisfaction is a top priority so if you are not satisfied with any product ordered from our website, you may return it within 30 days of purchase for a refund.
